About Direct Peak – We’re modern accountants specialising in helping small businesses grow through the use of growth reports and technology such as Xero.

You will find us different to most accountants you’ve encountered. We prefer casualwear to a suit as we find our customers find us more approachable. We also like to chat with our customers a lot throughout the year to make sure they are on track to grow their business and aware of any new tax advantages.

The company was founded in 2016 by Karl Newman, our managing director. He wanted to bring his finance director skills to small businesses, so he could help them grow and provide a service that included response times in less than a working day and quick turnaround times when it came to getting the work done.

As a former Head of Finance for a group of multi-million-pound turnover companies, I have extensive experience managing large organisations' financial operations. I have a proven track record of successfully implementing financial strategies that drive growth and profitability.

I am now bringing my skills and expertise to small UK businesses through my own accountancy firm. I am passionate about helping small businesses thrive and am committed to providing personalised, high-quality financial services that enable them to reach their full potential.

Personal interests:
Walking in the mountains (I spend a lot of time in the Lake District)
Playing electric guitar (Rock and heavy metal is what I like to play)
Trying new beers (I've also recently taken up homebrewing)

I started working for Direct Peak back in 2018. I have been working in accountancy for over 25 years and have a wealth of experience when it comes to helping small businesses manage their bookkeeping and financial accounts

I enjoy the variety of working with different types of clients and the type of work that brings, whether helping out with VAT, Payroll, Management Accounts, Annual Accounts or Tax Returns.

Personal interests:
Running, (I have completed a few half marathons over the last few years)
Socialising over a curry and glass of red wine

After gaining over 11 years’ experience working with top 100 accountancy firms, I joined the Direct Peak team in June 2021 as a client manager, mainly responsible for the end of year accounts and any taxation queries.

I am passionate about working directly with clients to solve challenges, identify tax savings and help them to grow the business to reach their personal goals.

Personal interests:
Watching football (I am a season ticket holder at Peterborough United)
Travelling the world (I have visited 25 capitals around the world.. and counting!)
Learning new languages (I am currently battling through Spanish on Duolingo)

I started working at Direct Peak as an apprentice in 2019 where I began my journey to become a Xero bookkeeper, gaining experience and confidence on a range of different softwares.

My responsibilities include bookkeeping, VAT returns, payroll and preparation of management accounts. I enjoy working with clients to keep their books up to date.

Personal interests:
Exploring the countryside and competing in Dressage and Showjumping with my horse Tilly.
Cuddling up with my dogs to watch a series (Currently Greys Anatomy)

I joined Direct Peak in September 2020, gaining experience through my apprenticeship. Due to this I am able to take on board a variety of different jobs and work on various customer accounts.

My day to day jobs include bookkeeping, VAT returns and preparation of management accounts. I enjoy working with clients to get their books up to date and answer any Xero queries they have.

Personal interests:
Spending time with my family and friends (especially a good games night!)
Going to watch football with my Dad
